Destination Wedding: Ashley & Matt

2016-01-07_0051 My 2015 wedding season started with a long weekend in Punta Cana!  When my best friend since high school, Ashley, told me she wanted a destination wedding I was all in! Ashley and her now husband Matt are loving, energetic, fun adventure seekers. They have traveled more places then I can list, and it was “them” to have a destination wedding.  I was honored to be the matron of honor for their big day rather then their photographer, but in a tropical paradise with two people I love getting married I HAD to take a few shots of my own! I hope you enjoy….

Ashley is one of the most beautiful women I know…inside and out.  I know people always say that, but it couldn’t be more true.  She is fiercely dedicated, full of love, and ALWAYS there when needed. She has an eye for fashion and is always glamorous. As for outside…well just look, she is stunning! I was so happy to share these fun moments with her before the ceremony.

After the gorgeous ceremony (that my husband officiated), I was able to take a few shots of the adorable newlyweds during cocktail hour. The day was like a dream…love, sunshine, waves crashing, sand between your toes, and a wonderful band rockin’ some island music.

We got crafty with our beach shots since the sun was less then ideal. (mid-day sun does not make for flattering portraits in direct sunlight, so romantic shots work!)

Did you spot the groom’s “thumbs up”? What man wouldn’t be excited to be kissing that gorgeous bride???

When the bride and groom are so fun it’s no stretch to imagine that their friends enjoy a good time too. During cocktail hour there were drinks (you saw the pretty signature one in the bride and grooms’ hands earlier), laughs, and some games too. The day was flawless. We all loved the Secrets Excellence, Punta Cana Resort and highly recommend a wedding there!

  1. Monica, your are so incredibly talented at everything you do!
You went above and beyond the duties of a Matron of Honor and were so dedicated to my every need; making sure all the details of my big day were in order! AND YOU ALSO TOOK THESE GORGEOUS PICTURES!!!
I feel compelled to let others in on a little secret: I know you can’t be every bride’s Matron of Honor (hopefully others out there are lucky enough to have their own Monica in their lives), but you can be their photographer. Whom, let’s face it, is a bride’s best friend!
The dedication you’ve shown me throughout our friendship is the same dedication you give to your clients during their special occasions. You really get to know your clients, share their vision, and then take photos so effortlessly- an experience unique and hard to find in a photographer. Your commitment extends beyond the big day when your eye for detail turns to editing photos. I know you also spend a great deal of time staying current with photography trends and perfecting your craft by taking photography courses.
I’m so thankful to have you as a best friend and I know others will be forever thankful to have you capture the memories they will cherish forever!
