It is February in Wisconsin and that means snow…snow…and more snow this year! I met Chris and Dana in June when Dana was maid of honor for her beautiful friend Ashley and I was fortunate enough to be photographing the wedding. I loved working with both of these lovely ladies so when Dana contacted me about her own wedding I was ecstatic!
At our meeting Dana told me she wanted to do a beautiful winter session with snow and I was thrilled to have an adventurous couple to brave the elements….until it didn’t snow for months! We finally got a beautiful blanket of the white stuff and then the polar vortex struck leaving the temperatures at -50 degrees! While I am willing to do anything for the shot these temps were unsafe and we agreed we would wait until it warmed up a bit. Just two days after the -50 day it was 40 degrees on a Saturday and we knew we had to seize the opportunity to shoot with snow AND decent temperatures. ( I know if you’re reading in a sunshiny state 40 sounds freezing but for January in Wisconsin its a heat wave!) Dana was amazing at rearranging her schedule and we had a blast during this gorgeous winter engagement session! I hope these bring you a little glimpse of how beautiful snow can be as I know many in Wisconsin are ready for spring to come now!
Yes Dana threw a snowball shaped like a heart completely on accident… can these two be any more perfect?!
Thank you Dana and Chris for a beautiful winter day! I can not wait for your gorgeous wedding day in May!
